FIGHTER VERSES
What Are Fighter Verses?
Many of the families at Trinity have committed to a Scripture memory program called Fighter Verses. The Fighter Verses program was developed by Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Fighter Verses are short passages of Scripture which each family memorizes throughout the week. Our desire is to so fill our minds with the truth of God's word that Christ becomes glorious and delightful to us and our sin unsatisfying and repugnant.

Why Scripture Memory?
We memorize Scripture to help us think like the Lord (1 Cor 2.16), to help us live the Christian life more faithfully (Prov 22:17-19), to help us battle temptation (Matt 4:1-11), to help in evangelism (2 Pet 3.15), and to help us meditate on the truth of God's word even when it is not in front of us (Psa 119.97).
A Family Approach to Scripture Memory
We've committed to memorize Scripture as families. That is, the work of helping each other learn these passages week after week belongs to each individual family. Nevertheless, memorizing the same passage as a church family each week gives us accountability and encouragement.
Resources for Scripture Memory
A number of resources for scripture memory are available to help you hide God's word in your heart (Psa 119.11). These are some of the most helpful:
